How to Play Oklahama Rummy
How to play Oklahoma rummy?? In the past, it was very difficult to find players who wanted to play this game compared to the other rummy variations but because of the emergence of online rummy game sites, it has obtained its share of the market and has brought online players from all over the globe.
Oklahoma rummy can play up to maximum of 4 players each dealt with 7 cards, and 10 cards if there are only 2 players involved.
The game stars with 1 deck of cards distributed to the players with the remaining cards face down. After doing so, one card is then turned over which is very important in Oklahoma rummy as the card determines the number of deadwood a player has to have when knocking.
That in essence is the main variation of rummy, Oklahoma style.
Scoring is quite easy. A knocker who goes gin without unmelded cards earns a bonus point of 20. Again, like most rummy variants, face cards are counted as 10 points, Ace 1 point and the number cards are based on the numbers face value. Say for example, 2 of hearts is 2, 5 of spade is 5 and so forth.
If however, a player knocks with unmelded cads, the opponent can lay off their melds based on the knockers sets and runs.
Lastly, if the deadwood of the player who knocks is less than his opponent, the knocker earns the difference. Otherwise, he is undercut and the opponent earns 10 points.
