Rummy Rules – Progressive Rummy

Progressive Rummy is a variation of Contract rummy card game. In this variation of Contract however, Progressive rummy rules are basically the same other than it differs in two aspects as laid out below. It is a fairly challenging game, but still interesting like the rest of the rummy variants. Standard rules still apply.

  • Each player is dealt with six cards in the first deal, seven cards in second, and so on. In other words, one more card per hand in each successive deal.
  • Also, the contracts must exactly meet these major rules: 3 cards for a set, and 4 cards for a sequence and that’s it. There should be no other extra cards.

Refer to the table below for the number of cards dealt and the contract for each deal for your reference.
